The male Nidoran has developed muscles that freely move its large ears in any direction. Even the slightest sound does not escape this pokemon's notice. Its ears are always kept upright and it will stiffen them to sense danger. When it is listening to distant sounds, it flaps the ears like wings. It scans its surroundings by raising its ears out of the grass and constantly moves them in many directions in order to detect danger right away. Its toxic horn is for protection. Although it is small, the horn is filled with poison. The larger the horn, the more powerful its secreted venom. When angry, it extends its toxic spikes. If it senses danger, it will attack by charging and then stabbing with the horn for poison stings. The size of its body thorns indicates its toxicity.
