How it was captured: When Sakura had first tried to seal Dash away using Windy it had escaped, but it was injured. A 6th grader from Sakura's school, Rei Tachibana, took care of it, thinking it was a stray animal(she named it Pee Wee, LOL.) In return for her kindness, Dash made Rei run amazingly fast in all of her track meets. Sakura refused to seal Dash away because she didn't want Rei to lose the upcoming race. But Kero convinced her that it wasn't fair for Rei to win using Dash, and not her own skills. So Sakura reluctantly sealed Dash away, but the card went to Li.
