Japanese Name: Yugi Mutou
Yugi, being a bit small for his age, often found himself being pushed around by the bullies at his high school. But that all changed after Yugi solved the mysterious Millenium puzzle that his grandfather gave him. After solving the puzzle, Yugi gained a more tougher and powerful "alter-ego." Whenever Yugi is threatened, this spirit of the puzzle(called “Yami”) takes over and settles Yugi's disputes over a game of Duel Monsters.
Yugi may seem timid and innocent most of the time but he's kind and always supportive of his friends, and they're devoted to him in return. Yami Yugi, though a much more stronger and competent duelist than his contemporary, is also a noble friend and honorable duelist.
