This Synopsis was written by me.
It is many hundreds of years in the future and the earth has become a post-apocalyptic wasteland. The last few impoverished cities lay scattered across the land and under the control of the Nobles, an ancient cult of people with mysterious powers and motives. During this time, wolves have been over 200 years extinct...at least, that's what most people think. But some people, like the ex-cop Quent, think otherwise. Quent believes that wolves were responsible for killing his family and he's determined to hunt down every single one of them. He believes that they are devilish creatures that are still able to exist by disguising themselves as humans. Quent's theory holds true when an injured white wolf named Kiba wanders into town on his search for "Paradise." There is an old legend written in "The Book of the Moon" that when the world is coming to an end, only wolves will be able to find the way to Paradise by following the scent of Lunar Flowers. Coincidentally, a group of scientists in the town had been experimenting on Cheza, a maiden created from Lunar Flowers. Following Cheza's scent, and after escaping a brush with death from Quent, Kiba meets three other wolves in the town; anti-social and disillusioned Tsume, who had been surviving by using his human disguise to lead a gang of thieves; carefree Hige, who convinced Kiba that a human disguise is their only means of survival, and naive and gentle Toboe, who had once been the pet of an old lady and longs for human companionship. Although they all have very contrasting personalities, Kiba convinces the other wolves to form a pack and come with him to Paradise.
During their journey, the wolves are relentlessly pursued by Quent and the Nobles' armies, but they eventually meet up with Cheza, and her refreshing aroma of Lunar Flowers gives them more hope of finding Paradise. But the world around them is crumbling and a war is going on between the Nobles. Cheza, the wolves, as well as Quent and his loyal dog Blue(who is also part wolf) and the divorced scientists Cher and Hubb, become victims of a dying, war-torn world. But although death is always nipping at his heels, Kiba remains determined to find Paradise, which is the only path left to survival.
