Brock is the leader of the Pewter City Gym, where he trained Rock type pokemon. His dream is to become a pokemon breeder, but he was unable to leave Pewter City because he had to stay and take care of his ten little brothers and sisters(his mother had died, and his father had left the family to become a pokemon trainer.) Ash never officially beat Brock in a pokemon battle, but Brock gave him the Boulder Badge anyway, because he refused to have Pikachu beat Onix after the sprinklers had accidentally gone off(the water weakened Onix.) When Brock's father finally returned home, Brock joined Ash and Misty on their pokemon journey, in hopes of becoming the world's best pokemon breeder.
Brock is much more knowledgeable and mature than Ash and Misty...except when there's a pretty girl around! The minute Brock sees a dashing member of the opposite sex, he practically proposes to her(until an irritated Misty drags him away by the ear, LOL.) But other than having some slight hormonal problems, Brock's a good pokemon breeder, and he keeps his pokemon well fed and well groomed.
