The sound of it makes me uncomfortable. I never heard of anime this disturbing! Committing suicide, shameful life...?! That's the kind of stuff that brings unease!

It's not going to be a 2-episode per novel format. This first story is going to be in 4 episodes, the others are in 2 or 1. ^_^

I haven't read the novel of no longer human yet, but I like it that the anime won't be following the novel too much. I find that more creative xD Hehe.

Yea I too am liking the show thus far. I didn't know anything about any larger backstory to it, only that its suppose to be a horror (i think). Can't wait to see how it all develops!

It actually makes a bit more sense as a narrative when I get to see it. Reading the book, it just seemed like he hopped from one indignity to another until finally he was being molested by an old lady in an invalid's home.

[...] Mainichi Anime Yumi does some great comparing to the novel, but he needs to know that No Longer Human will be episodes 1-4, not just the first two. Hope that helps!
I was completely unaware that Aoi Bungaku was based on a series of novels (makes sense, though, since so many anime--like Spice and Wolf--are), so I'm glad that you brought that to my attention! I'm definitely going to check at least the first one out.

I've really liked the anime so far. It's got both a modern and ancient feel to it, which is unnerving but completely addicting.

And oh my god, I was watching the first episode right before class today while waiting for the professor to show up, when all of the sudden he kissed the girl and started having sex. I didn't blush or anything because, hey, I'm used to that kind of stuff in anime, but there were a ton of people sitting really close to me. I was a tad bit embarrassed and ended up watching one of the other series I have on my iPod instead. XD
