Almost from the cryptic remarks and analysis from Koizumi and Asahina it seems as if they know more about the two then they let on to Kyon. Not to mention they both at times seem to give off this vibe that it's almost inevitable or imparitive that Kyon and Haruhi wind up together. Though really that's just my take as it does seem like theres time's where Kyon is falling for her, but tries to push those thoughts out of his head quickly.
